Ulaanbaatar Railway Station is located in the southwest of Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. Built in 1949 by the Soviets, this station is now the biggest station and the most important transportation hub in Mongolia.
There are domestic trains linking Ulaanbaatar station with other cities in Mongolia. The world-renowned Trans-Siberian Railway, which connects Russia, Mongolia and China, also passes through Ulaanbaatar Station.

You will find only few cars with taxi signs in the city. But many of the private cars are operating as taxis. Just wave to the driver and the car will stop. But be careful not to be overcharged by the driver.

Mongolian local passenger trains mainly follow the Trans-Mongolia Line, but stop at more stations.
There are two trains running between China and Russia including Trans-Mongolian Railway.
