Situated on the slopes of Mount Min, Huanglong is home to China's best-preserved high-altitude wetland ecosystem. "Huanglong" means "Yellow Dragon" in Chinese. The valley's winding shape resembles a giant yellow dragon, which is how it got its name.

The Five-Color Pool forms the dragon's head, Fuyuan Bridge marks its tail, while the waterfalls and travertine terraces resemble its mighty claws.

• Peak Season (June 1 – December 15): Open from 08:00 to 17:00. Visitors must enter the scenic area before 16:00.
• Off Season (December 16 – May 31): Open from 09:00 to 16:30. Visitors must enter the scenic area before 15:30.

Recommended Sightseeing Routes

The recommended route is: Tourist Center → Cable Car Station → Old-Growth Forest → Five-Color Pool → Huanglong Ancient Temple → Exit, with a leisurely downhill walk along the wooden boardwalk.

Admire the Old-Growth Forest during the Cable Car Ride

During the three-minute cable car ride (optional, at your own expense), visitors can enjoy a bird's-eye view of the Old-Growth Forest below. The forest transforms with the seasons, displaying different colors throughout the year, while the surrounding mountain peaks remain snow-capped year-round. 

Five-Color Pool

Situated at the highest point of the Huanglong Scenic Area, the Five-Color Pool is known as the "Eye of Huanglong." Its crystal-clear waters shimmer in shades of blue, green, yellow, white, purple, and orange. The pool's remarkable colors are created by mineral-rich water, the reflection of sunlight, and the presence of 88 species of algae, making it one of Huanglong's most breathtaking natural wonders.

Huanglong Ancient Temple

Covering an area of approximately 1,000 square meters, Huanglong Ancient Temple features a traditional Chinese courtyard (siheyuan) layout and is built entirely with interlocking wooden joinery, without the use of nails. Its elegant single-eaved, hip-and-gable roof is adorned with layered upturned eaves and golden dragon ornaments along the ridges.

Leisurely Downhill Walk to the Exit

The downhill walk to the exit along the scenic wooden boardwalk takes about one hour. Along the way, visitors will pass through the Zhengyan Pool Area, home to 658 colorful travertine pools, as well as the spectacular Golden Beach, picturesque waterfalls, and fascinating limestone caves. 

How to Get Tickets

• Tickets are released and available for booking 7 days before the departure date. 
• Your QR codes will be sent by email after booking confirmation.

How to Use Tickets

• Please bring your passport and QR code to the departure terminal. Both will be checked before boarding.
• Please arrive at the departure terminal at least 30 minutes before departure. Late arrivals may be denied boarding.

Cancellation Policy

• Free cancellation is available before the tickets are booked.
• Once the tickets are booked, the service fee will not be refunded.
• A refund of 85% of the ticket price will be issued for cancellations made more than 24 hours before departure.
• No cancellations are allowed within 24 hours of the departure time.
