Trains to Beijing

The first section of railway in Beijing was constructed in 1865 AD by a British merchant. At that time, the Chinese government thought the train and railway were monsters, so they bought them from the merchant and destroyed them.

Although this event reads like a joke, it is the beginning of the development of Beijing and Chinese railway system. Nowadays, travelers can take a high-speed train from most Chinese cities to Beijing without the need to stay overnight on the train. Many foreign cites’ railway networks have been extended to Beijing too.

Please check out the most popular trains to Beijing from Shanghai, Tianjin, Xian, Wuhan, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen as below. General speaking, the ticket prices of trains which depart in the late morning and arrive in Beijing during daytime are higher.
