The city of Guangzhou is the most important transportation hub in the south of China. There are five train stations serving this city: Guangzhou South Railway Station, Guangzhou Railway Station, Guangzhou East Railway Station, Guangzhou North Railway Station and Guangzhou West Railway Station. Guangzhou South, Guangzhou and Guangzhou east railway stations are the main train stations.
As one of China’s four largest and most heaviest used rail hubs, Guangzhou South Railway Station is an important high-speed train station in the city. It is 17 kilometers (10 miles) to the city center and 55 kilometers (34 miles) from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.
Guangzhou South Railway Station operates most high-speed trains to/from Guangzhou, including long-distance trains to/from Beijing, Tianjin. Shanghai, Hong Kong, Wuhan, Xi'an, Jinan, Changsha, Hangzhou and Zhengzhou; and short-distance trains to Shenzhen, Foshan, Zhuhai, Nanning and Guilin.
You can take subway line 2 or 7 to Guangzhou South Railway Station; bus 288A, 301A, 303A, 309A, 312, Pan52, Pan52 (long line), Pan75, Pan99, Pan 100, Pan108, Pan108B, Pan110, Fo k330, Fo k6, Night bus line (20, 61, 79) go to the southwest side of the station. By taxi, it takes about 40 minutes from Guangzhou Railway Station or 1 hour from Baiyun International Airport. Taxis stop at east side of the station on 2F.
There are four floors on Guangzhou South Railway Station: three above ground and one underground.
The 3F has waiting hall, restaurants, left-luggage offices, stores.
The 2F has platforms. You can tranfer on this floor.
The 1F has the entrances (with security/ticket checks) and exits, train ticket office, bus station, taxi stand.
The -1F has subway transfer halls, parking lot.
Guangzhou Railway Station is one of the most important transportation hubs in China. It is located in downtown area, about 23 kilometers (14 miles) from Guangzhou South Railway Station and 30 kilometers (19 miles) from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.
Guangzhou Railway Station mainly operates normal-speed trains to Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an, Changsha, Chengdu, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Kunming, Lanzhou, Lhasa and Zhangjiajie, etc. It also serves some of high-speed trains from Guangzhou to Shenzhen and vice versa.
You can take subway line 2 or 5 to Guangzhou Railway Station. If you by subway, you will get off at the southwest of the station. Bus 30, 31, 52, 201, 210, 211, 228, 254, 257, 529, 550, 552, 803, 805, 807, 840, 862, B2, B10, express line 21, express line 43, Night Bus Line (11, 18, 25, 41, 94, 96, 98) go to the east side of the square. By taxi, it takes about 20 minutes from Guangzhou East Railway Station, 35 minutes from Guangzhou South Railway Station or 30 mintues from Baiyun International Airport. Taxis stop at east side of the station.
There are two floors on Guangzhou Railway Station. The second floor has waiting rooms, stores, toilets, hot water. The frist floor has ticket office, waiting rooms, left-luggage office, toilets, nursing room, hot water, inquiry, transfer hall.
Located in the bustling area of Tianhe District, Guangzhou East Railway Station is about 10 kilometers (6 miles) from Beijing Road, 26 kilometers (16 miles) from the South Railway Station and 38 kilometers (24 miles) from Baiyun International Airport.
Guangzhou East Railway Station mainly serves normal-speed trains to Beijing, Shanghai, Changsha, Tianjin, Harbin, Xiamen, Shantou and Meizhou. Some of high-speed trains to Shenzhen also depart from Guangzhou East. In addition, Guangzhou East Railway Station is also the terminal station for the Guangzhou – Hong Kong through trains.
You can take subway line 1 or 3 to Guangzhou East Railway Station. If you go there by subway. Bus 11, 41, 43, 45, 122, 175, 183, 185, 195, 209, 214, 233, 256, 263, 280, 302, 302a, 508, 551, 804, 808, 810, 810a, 841, 884, B17, B19, Gaofeng Express Line (24, 28, 34, 49), Night bus line (17, 28, 51, 74, 77, 78) go to the station. By taxi, it takes about 25 minutes from Guangzhou Railway Station , 40 mintues from Guangzhou South Railway Station or 1 hour from Baiyun International Airport.
There are four floors on Guangzhou East Railway Station. All the floors are above floor.
The 4F has waiting hall, ticket office, waiting room. The 3F has ticket office, waiting room, waiting hall. The 2F has ticket office for long distance depatures and dispertion hall. The 1F has ticket office, waiting room, left-luggage office, rail tracks and platforms.
Sleeper trains between China and Vietman connect Beijing/Nanning and Gia Lam, Hanoi.
Two international trains running between China and Russia including Trans-Mongolian Railway.
